So I purchased this headset because I wanted a good headset to watch movies with, listen to music, and play games on. Since I play online games a lot, the mic option was also an important factor for me.
The sound quality is absolutetly the greatest thing I've ever heard. Surround sound in a headset was a brilliant idea and is well implemented with this headset.
When I bought this headset, I was a little wary because people were unhappy with the static that their mic was putting out. However, I found this to be a very easy fix. When you install your drivers for the headset, in the SRM program that gets installed, goto the Mixer tab and reduce the volume in the record settings down near the bottom until you see nearly no green noise in the volume levels. Then if you need to boost your sound, do it by increasing the gain on ventrillo or teamspeak.

I bought these a few years ago, but didn't use them much. Recently my wife started harping on me to turn the tv down at night. So I started using these again as I wanted to hear the surround channels of my dvds.

Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless Balanced Headphones
I've owned 4 sets of these Sennheiser wireless phones. Not only over priced, they are not compatible with most audio equipment in the sense that they have their own volume control which only works when the input volume is cranked to a disturbing level. These are represented as personal listening devices but when everyone within a 900 foot radius of the input device must tolerate the sound, I'd call these a complete FLOP. IF you seek wireless personal listening device, please locate a seller of TV Ears. They cost less and work flawlessly. Some ENT physicians actually sell them. I wear glasses but this set is still very comfortable. It is very light-weight, which certainly helps. I think it is well worth the purchase price. I've had these for a while and have them hooked up to my stereo receiver until I get a new pair of headphones. These headphones are terrible. They hurt after a minute or two of wear. There's no comfort in the earpieces and the design is so that there is always an uncomfortable spot around the ear.

I purchased this item a little of a year ago and its horrible. I bought these for one purpose only and that is to use them wireless for TV/Gaming. The sound quality is OK, cheaply made, the writing on the headphones wore off very quickly, it turns off randomly and you have to press [Reset] then [Scan] to get the sound back. The batteries seem to die quickly (4x AAA) at a time, should have a wall outlet. When the volume gets loud it sounds very choppy and distorted. I use these in a 17' x 17' living / TV room with one open wall. White walls and ceiling all around. I sit 12-13 feet from the transmitter, move around the room occasionally and have no issues with range or dropouts. I got them mostly for late night viewing when the wife is asleep.
Very comfortable; can wear them for hours without ear pain/fatigue and scarely know they are on. Outstanding surround sound quality. To me, they seem the equivalent of good speakers with exceptional bass response. While I have a 5.1 speaker system, these obviate the need for it. With these, there is no need to balance speakers and sit in the 'sweet spot'. They are the sonic equivalent of a movie theater.
No more arguing over volume issues. Extra headsets can be had and used to accommodate multiple listeners with separate volume preferences. With multiple headsets these might prove a good solution for home theater applications / apartment living without having to resort to expensive sound proofing (or even buying expensive speakers -- or 'ugly black boxes'). An inexpensive receiver, or any source for that matter with Dolby Digital or Dolby Pro Pogic II, would suffice.
Truly, these exceeded my expecations.

I love these headphones. In fact, I'm online today buying a replacement set for the one I've been using for over a year (battery leaked inside base and killed the contact!). You can easily switch between FM stations, and from radio to your computer/MP3/TV by using a button on the headset. Volume is controlled on the headset. Both the headset and base run on batteries, so you don't need to have yet another electrical outlet available to use these. I am totally amazed at how long the base will transmit on a pair of AAA batteries. In fact, I never had to replace the batteries in my unit, which is why I didn't realize one of the batteries was leaking. I must admit, that I don't use the headphones more than about an hour each day, but still, the battery life is great.
